BENJAMIN GALLAND

A native son of St. Simons Island, Georgia, Benjamin Galland was raised on photographing the pristine and unparalleled beauty of the Golden Isles.

Galland attended Berry College, in the foothills of the Appalachian mountains, outside of historic Rome, Georgia, during which he also spent time studying photography abroad in Florence, Italy, ultimately graduating with a bachelor's degree in visual art.

Galland is a founding member of h2o Creative Group, a marketing firm in Brunswick, Georgia, where his work focuses on boutique lifestyle, restaurant, and hospitality branding.

As an independent fine art photographer, Galland has spent the past ten years actively documenting the barrier islands of Coastal Georgia for a series of books published by the University of Georgia Press. The series currently includes books on St. Simons Island, Jekyll Island, Sapelo Island, and Cumberland Island (slated for a Spring 2020 release).

Galland is a sought-after photography expert for courses and workshops throughout the Southeast including The Lodge at Little St. Simons Island. His work has been published in numerous publications including The Bitter Southerner, Garden and Gun, Southern Living, Coastal Living and 31.81: The Magazine of Jekyll Island.

An avid outdoorsman, Galland and enjoys kayaking, fly-fishing, biking and exploring. He loves spending time with his family; wife, Kelly; son, Anson; daughter, Rebekah; and their numerous pets.
